I think you are right, however. And I know that I respond often to a wrong picture of God and I paint an incomplete picture. And that’s the challenge: How can we let God appear in what we do without adding so many layers of our own rules?

Tozer, and I think the first chapter is relevant to this post. Have you read it? Tozer speaks of our imperfect ideas of God as being a form of idolatry. I find that the people who get mad at Christians often are right; we’ve got some hypocrisy going on, even at a subtle level.
