and then you get up the next morning.

Sometimes you are too tired to write. You are too tired to think.

And then you read in Psalm 4,

I will lie down and sleep in peace,
for you alone, O LORD,
make me dwell in safety.

And you don’t think about the deep meaning of it. You don’t spend hours looking for the shades of interpretation, the contexts in which the writer is speaking.

Sometimes you just go to bed. And sleep.

Peacefully.

I think that is what obedience looks like sometimes.

If you didn’t read what I told the bride and groom on Friday night, you can.
