As you know if you read 300words regularly, I’ve been taking a few days off from writing. I called it a sabbatical. It was more of a running out of steam. I’ve spent most of the evenings since I stopped writing at meetings or traveling or teaching or all three.
It has been good to not have the writing commitment during this time. It has meant that when I got home from wherever I was, I didn’t need to say “hi” to Nancy and then run to the keyboard. However, I’m realizing that I’m not sure what I’ve been thinking during this time.
Writing, for me, is how I think. It’s a significant way for sorting out my ideas and concerns. It slows me down and focuses me enough to understand better what I’m saying to God, what God’s saying to me, and what I’m still trying to figure out.
I’m not going to write a full 300 words here. We still have some travel time and the next piece starts 30 minutes after I schedule this post. But I wanted to say “hi” and to practice a little bit before I start thinking with my fingers again on Sunday night.
Have a great weekend.
