God.
We are looking at the end of on calendar page and the beginning of the next.
Depending on our calendar, this is always true.
Hours, days, weeks, months, years.
At the end of today, we are at the end of this month, and at the end of this year.
Already we are anxious about the new year.
Already we are aware that the battles and arguments and intrigues of this past year will not go away with the turn of the page.
Already we are aware that we cannot count on the turn of a page to change the fear and hate, the battles and the campaigns.
Already we are aware that hearts and minds and bodies will be broken.
And yet.
God, you are with us.
God, guide our hearts to care again about who you care for.
God, help us clear our minds to see you above and within the chaos and noise.
God, strengthen and heal our bodies at least enough to do what will help you.
God, thank you.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
