A bit of a break.

I’m taking a break from my break.

We just finished the first three chapters of  A Great Work: A Conversation with Nehemiah for People (Who Want to Be) Doing Great Works. The next two weeks, Rich and Paul are taking care of two days each week. And I don’t want to break up the Nehemiah readings for your sake and for mine.

Because I’m tired.

We’ve had some really sad deaths at the hospital recently. I’ve been working a bit extra. I’m teaching a bit. And I’m doing some preliminary work on a research project.

And I’m aware that every time I look at Facebook, I end up cranky.

Nobody likes me cranky.

So here’s what I’m deciding, as I write this, on Monday afternoon:

You’ll hear from Rich and Paul on Wednesday and Friday for this week and next, and I’ll have some words for you next Monday. And then, for the last two weeks of June and the first week of July, I won’t be publishing here. And over at Finding Words in Hard Times, I’m only writing twice a month for June and July.

Back to cranky for a minute. With so many opinions being expressed in so many places, there is an implied expectation that people who care ought to share. I don’t think I have enough energy for all that caring and sharing. And mostly for all that expectation.

I need to reset a bit, and maybe you do, too.

So I’ll give us all that opportunity.

When there are words here, you’ll see them. When there aren’t, you won’t.

And we’ll all take a breath.

Thanks for the support you always give.

    Good for you, Jon!

I’m sorry that things are so …difficult (?), especially at the hospital. It sounds like a break from whatever can be put aside is overdue.

Love to you, Nancy and the family,

    Bill
