Safety and laughter and love.

If you read yesterday’s post, “Internal Conflict“, you know the cycling project that Rich and Becky Dixon lead has been disrupted this year.

After reading Rich’s post before I scheduled it for you, I thought that I would love to write a fundraising appeal for my friend Rich. Actually, not for Rich but for the kids Rich cares so much for. Actually, for the kids that God cares about and has helped Rich care about and that Rich’s Ride has supported.

This is that appeal.

This year, the contributions are down. Because we’re confused and distracted and worked up. We’re worked up because of disruptions in what it means to care for people. And particularly people outside this country.

But our uncertainties don’t change something that is true. At this moment, there’s a house where kids live. And Rich’s Ride has supported it. Covering the expenses for this house for a year.

So far this year, it seems like support will fall short.

The picture is the deck behind of house. The slide belongs to Ben, our grandson. We found it by the street one day and attached it to the deck. Because safety and laughter and love matter to kids. And to God.

It’s not like the kids will be kicked out of their house. God cares too much about them, and Project Rescue is too responsible for that to happen. But caring that could happen, that could expand, won’t.

I invite you to join us in being part of providing safety and laughter and love to kids we’ve never seen.

DONATE: Help us support these special kids. (Here’s one of Rich’s stories).
