Rich Dixon is back and is, in my eyes, a giant-facer.

We talked last time about facing Modern Giants based on the ancient story of David & Goliath.
It’s tempting to take David’s example literally – summon the courage, face the giant, and kill him. However, as followers of Jesus, literally killing our enemies isn’t an option.
To me, that means facing the giant requires even greater courage. It’s tough to stand peacefully, empty-handed, before a powerful enemy.
Except, of course, we aren’t empty-handed. We know Jesus stands beside us. We know he’s already walked this sort of difficult road. He already knows the outcome.
I told someone last week that if I had the physical ability, I hope I would be standing on a street corner in Minneapolis. I hope I’d have the courage to help if I saw a woman being brutalized. And I know that’s easy to say when I can’t do it.
I’m not going to waste time regretting what I can’t do. I’ve said many times: we do what we can, where we are, with what we have – and trust Jesus for the outcome.
What we CAN do is face the giant of human trafficking. The FREEDOM TOUR isn’t going to end global sex trafficking of children, but we can make sure our 22 kids have a safe, nurturing environment in which to learn and laugh and play and grow.
I’ve often claimed bike riding is an inefficient way to raise funds. Perhaps, but since 2013 a community has surrounded these kids with love and support. They’ve donated more than $1,000,000 to allow the Home of Hope to provide shelter, nutrition, clothing, education, trauma care and the opportunity to know Jesus in what has become an increasingly difficult political environment.
