So what are the routines of the Kingdom of Heaven? Rather than talking about rules, let me suggest some behaviors Jesus talks about.

People who are following Jesus:

Routinely keep their word.

Routinely ask God for daily bread

Routinely see their poverty.

Routinely look away from people as objects and toward the people we love.

Routinely give up what is good for a bit to see what is great a little more clearly.

Routinely forgive.

Routinely ask for forgiveness.

Routinely seek the good of people who wish them ill.

Routinely go above what is expected.

Routinely ask, “Have I been honest with God?”

Routinely defer to God’s priorities instead of their own.

Routinely say. “God, let me see you today.”

Routinely choose against stuff and choose for God.

Routinely trust rather than routinely worry.

Routinely ask.

Routinely knock.

Routinely seek.

Routinely examine their motives.

Routinely examine their hearts.

Routinely learn more about this new routine.
