A prayer for the Second Sunday of Easter

God-

daffodil - 3 In the busy of this week I forgot that last weekend, we talked about the resurrection of Jesus, about the invitation to relationship you offer.
Some of us committed ourselves to being more aware of the forgiveness you offer and the peace that you provide and the possibility of living without so much fear.
That’s what we thought in the excitement of Sunday.
And then the work of Monday showed up. And we forgot.

We confess that we ignore you when you tell us be not afraid.
We confess that we ignore you when you tell us that you are with us always.
We confess that we find it hard to believe that you love us and have freed us and have make us a kingdom.
We confess that we are more interested in building our own kingdoms than learning to live in yours.
We confess that our attention is consumed by the kingdoms of this world, with all their arguments and attacks and opinions and distractions.
We confess.

But again and again you remind us that once and for always you forgave and freed us. And at this moment, you tell us, that if we forgive sins, they are forgiven, in your name and in your power and for your glory.
Help us remember that forgiveness.
Help us delight in your love.
Help us work for the good of your kingdom.
Even today in this place.
Wherever this place may be, and whenever today is.

Amen.
