Yesterday, at the beginning of a day of conversations and then travel and conversation, I said to Nancy, “I need to run around the block.”
I did.
When I got back, I wrote, “Sometimes once around one block is what you can do.”
It’s not as far as I can ever run, it’s not as fast as I can ever run. But it’s what I could do.
We’re each facing our own long days, with burdens and opportunities of thought and relationship, of body and soul.
As I wrote elsewhere for people in difficult times, “a minute at a time may be all you can do.”
That one thing that came to mind that is the one thing that came to mind? That one small thing?
Go ahead.
Peace.
