A friend sent “Greater” to me this morning. That was the title of today’s text message. He regularly sends texts that point me to Jesus.
“He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.”
John said that in John 3:30. He was quite an influencer! He finished a very successful part of his life when crowds followed him and became his disciples. But he didn’t keep the glory for himself – he wanted Jesus to get the spotlight.

What an inspiring example. I’d love for everything I do to point to Jesus.
Obviously, I have a long way to go. It’s so easy to grab the spotlight. When I do something good, I love for people to hear about it. I’m not a spotlight person – in fact, I avoid it whenever possible – but I still appreciate getting kudos when they’re available.
One way to exercise pointing to Jesus is to naturally mention that He gave you that idea or pushed you in that successful direction. The more practice we get at doing that, the easier it will become.
