A simple exercise for Lent

Here’s a very simple way to keep Lent, which starts tomorrow, February 13:

  • Take a piece of paper.
  • Number it from 1-47.
  • Put it next to your computer or in the bathroom or on the wall next to your bed.
  • Starting on Ash Wednesday, every day for the next forty-seven, cross off one of the numbers.
  • When you cross off the last day, it’s Easter.

That’s it.

That’s a Lenten celebration, giving up that moment of time to make that mark.

And it may be all you can do.

If you want to do more, that’s the rest of this book.

From Lent for Non-Lent People: 33 things to give up for Lent and other readings. (For the Kindle) (For the Nook).
