Missing out on a meal.

IMG_5241.JPG And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.” So [Zacchaeus] hurried and came down and received [Jesus] joyfully. And when [the crowd cheering for Jesus] saw it, they all grumbled, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” (Luke 19)

It makes me wonder. Are there people who are genuinely going out of their way to see Jesus, that Jesus goes to eat with, that I attempt to shame?

The attitude of the crowd did nothing to disrupt the meal that Jesus and Zacchaeus shared. But it did mean that the crowd didn’t enjoy a meal with Jesus.
