It started with a low distant rumble. Thunder rippled across the entire sky.
This went on for a while. Then the rain came. Lots of rain. Louder thunder.
What a great reminder of God’s power.
That massive strength! The clash of powerful thunderclaps and countless big raindrops hitting our skylight – no one but God can do that.
So very often, I forget how powerful God is.
And there was also the waiting.
It has been hot and dry here, and we needed that rain.
After the thunder started, it took about ten minutes for the rain to come. I may have been ready for the rain before the thunder even started. But God knew when it would come.
In ten short minutes, there was more water imparted to dry lawns than hours of watering would have given.
So very often, I forget that I need to wait on God’s timing.

Love it! Thunder is a way to show us how little we are and how powerful our God really is.
