I was talking with someone about free time recently. It moved from a conversation about time management into a conversation about what you want to accomplish in the world, what is the difference you want to make.
As I thought about that in the shower the next day, I thought, “What if we decided that in our spare time we wanted to learn to be kind.”
Goodness knows many of us are spending a lot of time scrolling through comment sections learning what being unkind looks like. And the news and the ways people drive provide examples of learning to be unkind. (Even that last sentence reflects what is happening to me).
But what if a handful of us working on learning to be kind? What would be the implications of that over the next five years?
I’ve written a little about choosing to learn things like kindness.
It may be a free time pursuit.
