In the midst of the chaos that is life today, I often forget that Jesus is still alive.
I’m so thankful for the Bible. About 3/4 of the way through, you’ll find four books that recount the life of Jesus: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Each book is told from a different person’s perspective.
As I watched The Chosen, for some reason I was drawn to the quirky character of Matthew. Even though he definitely had problems, Jesus called him and wanted him to be part of that merry band of misfits.
When you read his account, Matthew begins by going into clinical detail about the lineage of Jesus – because it was important to him.
Reading Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, you can’t help but see the miracles Jesus did. And Jesus is still doing miracles today.
Even though I believe Jesus is real and alive, I often put him in a box in the back of my mind and think, “He did those things then, but not today.” But this is true: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
By the way, check out The Chosen. I promise you’ll see Jesus in new ways.
